Autumn Design Ideas for Your Bedroom

Posted on 28/09/2017

As we pass the equinox, we say goodbye to summer and hello to autumn. We feel sorrow at leaving behind long days and trips to the coast, but this can easily turn to joy if we appreciate the beauty of the approaching season and spend time making our home more comfortable. Prepare to spend more time indoors by indulging in a sumptuous new throw, cosy cushions or a whole new bedroom makeover. With this in mind, we take autumn as our inspiration for a bedroom revamp – offering ideas to cosy up your home for autumn/winter as well as offering some interior design suggestions you might want to enjoy all year round.

Jungle Gym

A plant in a bedroom

Already lamenting the approach of colder nights and shorter days? Introducing plants into a space is always a brilliant way to breathe vitality into a room, lift your mood, and enjoy a touch of the “outdoors indoors” philosophy. Winter flowering plants especially will help you to enjoy your home this season. If you enjoy adding an element of nature to your home, then you’re not alone. The insatiable popularity for houseplants amongst the ‘millennial’ generation has even been in the news recently. Top of the interior decor charts at the moment are also nature-inspired hues, like emerald and forest green. Pair your jungle gymnasium with natural wooden furniture and cosy carpets. Browse our Solid Wood collection to fire your imagination further.

A red wardrobe

Did you know colour blocking is on trend right now? The autumn/winter season is when you’ll spend the most time in your bedroom so we think a bold idea like this is the perfect interior design solution to keep the winter blues at bay. Typically colour blocking involves taking colours that are opposite on the colour wheel, but you can use any colours that take your fancy. Combine red and blue for example, but offset with a third grey shade to bring some balance. Furniture from our High Gloss/Acrylic range would look particularly stunning when matched with this contemporary style.
